Alinea has advised the shareholders of Soma Health on their sale to Oakfield Capital backed The Doctors Clinic Group.

‘I can’t speak highly enough of Alinea. They have worked tirelessly to realise the best value for the business. They took me step by step through the process, with a fastidious but calm approach.  They are extremely easy to deal with, amiable, always available (whatever time of day!) and extremely professional.  I am so thankful that we chose Alinea to represent us, as the transaction was certainly made far easier with them leading the way.’ Caroline Gardiner, Shareholder

Soma Health was formed by Caroline Gardiner in 2004 and has developed a strong reputation for operating a “partner not provider” approach, with an unwavering commitment to providing excellent customer service underpinned by the highest clinical standards.

The Doctors Clinic Group (DCG), the UK’s high growth private healthcare company, has acquired Soma Health to add into its Occupational Health arm along with existing provider, Maitland Medical. This is part of DCG’s continued expansion strategy in corporate healthcare provision, and its ongoing nationwide expansion.

The acquisition of Soma Health is part of an ongoing and ambitious growth strategy, led by former Vitality Deputy CEO and The Doctors Clinic Group CEO, Dave Mezher.

Mr Mezher said: “Our ambition has been to create a healthcare services platform that can provide occupational health along with primary, secondary and other health services to our individual and corporate customers. With the addition of our new partner, we are well on the way to becoming a leader in this space and to use the skills and experience in the respective teams to drive leading-edge healthcare solutions and offer everyone the opportunity to put their health first”.

Alongside Alinea, Rachael Reeves, Mark Edwards and Lena Arranch from HCR provided legal advice to the shareholders.
